A Free Spirit

I hop through the woods

(Jump, jump, jump)

To find myself some goods

Where will I go?

Not even I know

I happen upon a garden

Where will I go next? 

            I beg your pardon?

That’s all up to me

I’m happy and I’m free!

Coyote Camaraderie

 He struts by with nonchalance,
  I wait,
     and wait,
        and wait.

My turn!

The little creature peaks out.
He looks about.
I'm waiting to see if he notices.
  My partner
     strutted by
         long ago,
This is all he notices.

Mine for the taking!

He struts back,
       excited,
       and eager.

Our song fills the air
  and reaches the stars.

Back to the burrow we go,
Where I bask in the success that is ours,
With my trickster comrade
     and his battle scars.

The Owl

He sat in the treetops, 

   Watching down. 

His wisdom, 

   Helped him hunt. 

One day a snake slurked about, 

   He picked up a mouse, 

      and placed him, 

        thirty yards away. 

That snake was to go hungry that day.
